Burhill Logistics have been long-term supporters of Ipswich Rugby Club and as the new playing season begins, they are delighted to be announced as Platinum Sponsors of the club.
Ipswich Rugby Club dates back over 150 years, having celebrated its 150 th anniversary in the season 2020/2021 and is a well-known and well-respected club in the rugby world and the local community.
The club has an impressive track record across its senior teams, through junior squads and the mini level – supporting all players from the entry level of the under six years old and encouraging their love of the game all the way through the playing years and beyond. At the highest stage, men and women players have gone on from Ipswich to play rugby at a regional and national level and the support that the club can give to all those who take part is something they take very seriously and pride themselves on.
“We are so proud of our heritage in growing the game in our community, supporting players across all ages and for both men and women in the sport and we have enjoyed significant success as a result.”

“But we could not do this without the support we get from our fantastic long-term sponsors like Burhill Logistics who make the difference in what we can do at the club in terms of investing in the facilities, the coaching skills, the kit and the equipment. We are incredibly grateful for their generous support and give our thanks to Burhill for their Platinum Sponsorship this year as we embark on our new season. We couldn’t do what we do without such incredible support.”
“Supporting clubs like Ipswich and all it stands for with its approach to grass roots rugby coaching and what it provides in the local community is very close to our heart,” said Edward Walker, Burhill Logistics Managing Director.
“They are such a committed team of coaches who give their all to the club and have such a great reputation for the support and development of the club members – from the youngest individuals to the long-term players at the club. We are delighted to help support the club again this year and elevate our sponsorship to Platinum level for the continuity of the club’s success and what it offers. Good luck to all for another successful and enjoyable season.”
Richard Burgess, Burhill founder and director, is a former player at the club and is currently in training to take part in an incredible fundraising challenge with other Ipswich club members, in support of Motor Neurone Disease (MND) charities which has recently sadly affected many in the wider rugby community.
The group will be cycling 400 miles in five days between Ipswich Rugby Club and Melrose, the home club of Scotland Rugby International Doddie Weir, who passed away last November after a six-year battle with MND. The team of cyclists will call in to several rugby clubs on their 400-mile journey to pay tribute to others affected by this cruel condition.
