With less than 2 weeks to go until the ALL4MND team set off on their next epic challenge, let’s take a look at the inspiring endeavours of the ALL4MND team…
On the 24th of May, 20 Hikers will be setting off on their challenge of conquering the 24 peaks of the Lake District in 24 hours. This challenge will certainly not be ‘a walk in the park’ but a gruelling 24 hours of non-stop hiking, with no sleep or driving in between! In their own words:
“We are not just hikers; we are warriors, mothers, daughters and friends. We are united by a common purpose: to push our limits for a cause bigger than ourselves.”
So who are ALL4MND? An excerpt taken from ALL4MD.co.uk perfectly sums up the origins of this venture –
ALL4MND is a charity venture created by a group of Old Rugby Boys over a few Christmas beverages. We have all been touched by the stories of Doddie Weir, Rob Burrow, Ed Slater and their battles with MND (Motor Neurone Disease). These guys are legends of the Rugby Field but more importantly they are Husbands, Fathers, Friends and Team Mates.
MND is a devastating disease that robs people of their mobility and voice, leaving families shattered. But amidst the darkness, hope glimmers and our team of hikers, united by resilience and solidarity, will carry that hope with every step.
Last September, a team of 31 amateur riders, including our director Richard Burgess, took on the challenge of cycling 400 Miles in 4.5 days from Ipswich to Scotland raising a staggering £163,232 for the cause.
ALL4MND hope to raise £400,000 for Motor Neurone Disease by the end of 2024, and they’re well on the way!
Burhill Logistics Ltd are proudly supporting this cause and hope you will too.
